February 1-3, 2013 ● The Westminster Woods Women’s Weekend provides you with time to slow down and really savor the beauty of a redwood forest in its quiet winter season…time to reflect on your life and your relationship to yourself, to others, and to God…time to relax, to laugh, to enjoy the company of other women…time for God’s Spirit to touch you in a new way.
Join over a dozen women of all ages from St. Andrew’s as we escape to the redwoods. Oh, and have we mentioned that the food is AMAZING (not your typical camp food.) If you want to hear how last year went, talk to Courtney Mizutani, Karen Minnis, Eleanor Manley, Erika Glisson or any of the other women who attended. Add your name to the sign-up list and we will arrange carpools as well.
This year’s theme is Nourished by God, Grounded in Creation: A Life by Design. As Christians, we listen for the presence of God in and through every aspect of life. Thirty years into ministry at Westminster Woods, Sheila believes that a deeper integration of our faith with nature encourages richer Sabbath practices, simpler rhythms of house and home, finer attunement with our bodies, and greater ease in our relationships.
Sheila is the Executive Director of Westminster Woods Camp & Conference Center, where she has directed programs for nearly thirty years. Sheila holds a Certificate in the Art of Spiritual Direction from San Francisco Theological Seminary, and is also certified in Permaculture Design. Her ministry has focused on helping young adults find their individual callings into lives of service, and she is now a leader in developing programs that further Christian spirituality and the call to care for Creation.
Standard Housing for the weekend is $160. Deluxe housing (with indoor bathrooms) is available for an additional $75. If you are hoping for deluxe accommodations, please register as soon as possible. Massage is also available for an additional charge of $60.
Visit westminsterwoods.com for more information and registration. Paper registration forms will be available in December.
