Isaiah 43:18 Do not remember the former things
    or consider the things of old.
19 I am about to do a new thing;
    now it springs forth; do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
    and rivers in the desert.

Windshields are always bigger than rearview mirrors. We need to be aware of where we’ve been but not focused on or controlled by it because God is more interested in our future than our past. The future is the territory of the Holy Spirit, maybe better understood as the Spirit of Holiness. That Spirit is God present and at work everywhere in our world and our lives as the divine agent of change moving to teach, heal, bless and grow us – that’s true of individuals and groups, including local Christian congregations. Let’s pray for continued openness to that Spirit as to how God is leading us, individually, and as a congregation.
