2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

There is an old Pennsylvania Dutch saying “Ve get too soon oldt und too late schmart”. Many of us here at St Andrews are in the last quarter of the race, not too many more laps to go. In today’s scripture, St Paul is writing very near his earthly end. As he concluded the previous chapter, he gave the heart of his message for us – to persist in the faith, hang on to the truth that we know, hold firmly to God’s love flowing through us to rescue of us through Jesus Christ and stay confident in the scriptures that have brought us to this shining hope. Let’s keep on “getting schmarter”.   Pastor Bill
