The final line of the Peace Prayer is a short hand summary of all that has preceded it. It makes clear that the pattern of death and resurrection is our path too as followers of Jesus the Christ. And it applies not just to the end of our earthly lives, but to the repeated “small” deaths that we suffer on our life’s journey and the blessed moments of eternity that we also experience. So this Sunday we will reflect on this deep pattern of each of our lives, that “It is in dying that we are born to eternal life” (click to listen to Pastor Ernie’s message).
