Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart;  test me and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.

Wicked ways, sinful ways, failures to be as perfect as God – mis-direction, wrong turns – all risks as we travel the road of life. I hung onto my flip-phone much longer than Kathy did. Kathy was way ahead of me and prefered online real-time google maps for direction and correction. Miss a turn and Google’s phone lady would  immediately issue a course correction. Sometimes that involves a full stop, then a u-turn and return to the right way. A u-turn is repentance. Stop, turn 180 degrees then go back a way to resume rightly directed movement once again. Sometimes a simple course correction, sometimes the full u-turn. Both I find to be helpful images for what the Psalmist is asking of God in today’s brief scripture prayer for moral / spiritual awareness and restoration. I recommend that brief prayer for all of us as a daily practice  Pastor Bill
