You and Y’all

You and Y’all

Ephesians 3:16  I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit

A few of my favorite things are like Julie Andrews sings in The Sound of Music – whiskers on kittens and blue satin sashes. What are yours? A particular color, dress, meal, vacation spot, whatever? How about pronouns? They have become a “thing” of note in the culture lately.  My favorite pronoun is “you”. Part of the beauty of “you” is its flexibility to be about any number of people starting with that one and only you.!  “You”, in scripture, is usually an inherently spiritual word because the love of God is intensely  personal for you, created uniquely in the image and likeness of God. Go ahead, delight and rest in that beautiful reality for a moment – AND, for all of us reading this message today, you is also an embracing family word for us, the we who form the unique branch of God’s family gathering in body and/or in spirit at 1601 Mary Dr in Pleasant Hill. Let’s delight and rest in that beautiful reality as we read again above that prayer of St Paul that as individuals, and as family, we are inwardly strengthened by God’s Spirit.
